TODAY is the day I embark on a six-month journey (now until mid-March) with my oldest daughter Sara.  We’ll be traveling in her motorhome to explore the Great Southwest.  Neither of us has spent any quality time in that neck of the woods.   We’ve never been to a desert.  We’ve never been up in a hot air balloon and no, I have no fear of heights, just a little trepidation when I descend a ladder :) . I don’t like labels.  Seems to me, labels don’t adequately “define”, they just limit, stereotype and mislead.

The day I left the convent I went straight to the house of a cousin who lived nearby.  This was the cousin I was very close to in my growing-up years, and he said something that made him stand VERY tall in my eyes.  He said: I cannot accept the God that the church talks about.  Their definition just doesn’t fit.  God is SO much bigger, so much more, than what the church describes.  You can’t put God in a box like that.
