Rock The Boat, Baby!

Rocking the boat

I love being on a boat.  Of any kind.  My opportunities have been rare — maybe that’s why each experience is so memorable.

I remember my parents booking the entire family for a week-long Thanksgiving cruise to Mexico — there were 22 of us, all willing captors in a family reunion.  It was a wonderful week and one of my best memories, but the one outstanding memory was some rough seas we encountered. Read More…


Be Like A Butterfly

butterfly 3Last week I read a post that I had to read several times.  It was that good.  It was light, airy, breezy, and fun.  It also had a very fine message about balance, taught by a butterfly.  I hope you’ll take a moment to see it for yourself at http://sara-justbe.blogspot.com/2009/08/get-flitty-with-it.html.

 Now, when I’m out gardening, I look for nature’s little critters to teach me something, or remind me of something I used to know, or offer me a different perspective.  So much fun!

Oh, by the way — another really neat thing about the post?  My daughter wrote it!



wine 3Yesterday was really too hot to work outdoors for very long.  I totalled three hours in the gardens before caving in and retreating to the air-conditioned comfort of my travel trailer.

At 6:30 pm I figured it was cool enough to go out for a few hours and work (it was down to 88° and the sun was low in the sky).  But, as fortune would have it, I found a group of campground staff sitting outside our restaurant enjoying their glasses of wine. . . Read More…
