Austin TX, Part Two

CHECK THIS OUT !!

I had six glorious hours of a second visit when my blogging buddy Jannie and and her princess Kelly came to our campground site for a visit on Saturday.  Sunshine abounded, hot dogs abounded, and the chatting and laughter abounded.

Kelly fell in love with the pups, and vice versa.  She fell in love with Sara’s rear bedroom and tv.  She fell in love with Sara’s laptop where she could play her online game while Jannie and I talked about everything under the sun.

Kelly got caught singing a song of her own making as she played on the computer — she is so amazing!  Jannie got caught singing “I Need A Man” — she is so amazing!

We talked about: blogging. Canada.  Home Makeovers.  Talented Jim.  Sunshine Kelly.  Jannie’s songwriting.  Other things that have eluded my short-term memory ( :) ).

Before we knew it, the sun dipped low in the sky and the air cooled suddenly, and Jim called Jannie, and Jannie said “I guess we gotta go” and I said

HOLY COW!  PICTURES, WE NEED PICTURES!  And I bemoaned the fact that the whole afternoon had gone by without picture taking . . .  but we got a few,  to capture forever a precious memory of being with people we love.

Kelly, you have stolen yet another heart!  You go, Girl!

  6. Ahhhhh, late for this party?? How could I !?!?

We also talked about your AMAZING ( and I saw the photos) gardens back East!! Talked about movies, relationships, life and travel, bloggers, blogging and RVing. And it was obvious what a wonderful mom and friend you are to all 3 of your kids.

I had an absolute blast with you, Jeanne of my heart. You are a wonderful, wonderful sweet funny caring lady. There is a great depth to you that is refreshing and hopeful. You were a joy to be with.

And I’ve even got the correct pronunciation of your name in my mind now!

Sweet pix. Hope you and Sara are travelling well.

    xoxo

Jannie, I left Austin feeling like I’d been touched by an angel! Wait, make that TWO angels!

We’re traveling well. Apparently we left Austin in the nick of time, considering the weather you’re having now. . . give Kelly a big hug for us :)

    Jeanne,

Wow! You got to hear Jannie AND Kelly sing live?? My eyes are green with envy. ;)

That is great that you all had such a wonderful visit!!

    Jeanne

P.S. I know your name is pronounced differently than mine. Mine is the “boring” pronunciation as if it’s spelled “Jean”.

Jeanne, they’re an awesome duo, just almost too much to handle in one sitting :) — I was pretty much all agog being with the two of them. My definition of “beautiful people” has been enriched and deepened! Whoa, Nellie . . .

      • Jeanne says:

PS — Jeanne = Jean is NOT boring! Like you say, just different. Hopefully you didn’t spend your whole childhood correcting people’s mispronunciations :( Even my dentist told me if I’m an American I should pronounce my name “Jean”. Go figure . . .

  12. Jeanne says:

    Jeanne,

I’ll bet you didn’t have a nanosecond resembling boredom while you were with Jannie & Kelly! ;)

Yes, they are beautiful inside and out. That’s for sure!

I don’t REALLY think the “Jean” pronunciation is boring. I was joking. My mother told me when I was young, “it’s the French spelling”. Sure enough, when I reached French class in 6th grade, my “French name” was the only one in the class that was the same spelling as my “regular name”. (My sister, Joan, later found that her “French name” was also “Jeanne”). ;)

Yes, I dealt with my share of mispronunciations… everything from “Jeannie” to “Jeannine” to “Janine”. Substitute teachers really had trouble knowing how to pronounce it.

As far as your dentist is concerned, I think it is none of his/her business how you pronounce your name. Hopefully, he/she was just joking with you. I don’t think dental school involves classes regarding how names “should be” pronounced. So, I wouldn’t lose any sleep over that one! ;)

Not to worry, Jeanne — no sleep lost over the dentist thing! And I’ve certainly heard all the same mispronunciations that you have, plus this weird one: “Gee-anne” :)
